How to Create and Delete Partition,Install,Fix and Remove OS for Dual Boot?

Tools Needed:
1.)Bootable Windows CD(ex. XP, Vista, 7, modified OS or Linux Distributions like Ubuntu, Mandriva, Kubuntu, etc)

2.)EasyBCD.. Click Here to download

3.)PC/Laptop

How to Create a Partition?


a.)On your current OS, open Computer Management

Right Click My Computer and then select Manage

b.)Under Storage, Choose Disk Management



Choose a drive to partition (ex. C, D, E, etc)..

let's choose for example Drive C

Right Click Drive C, choose Shrink Volume




d.) Type the number of the size you want to partition..10000 means 10Gb, 20000 means 20Gb..

then click Shrink


e.) Right Click the new Partition and select New simple volume.. Don't forget to format it..


that's it! YOU HAVE A NEW PARTITION

How To Install an OS for Dual Boot?

a.) Insert the bootable CD/DVD.. To make a bootable CD/DVD

b.) Install the OS, then Go to Partition, choose your partition.. (example you install XP)



here's how you instal linux based OS (ubuntu, fedora, etc)

install OS inside windows which means it acts like a normal software that you can uninstall it..choose a partition..



wait to re-start..

then it will be rebooted automatically




that's it!
for those who want to use linux
I recommend the use of wubi (for those who want ubuntu OS)



How to Fix and Remove a Dual Boot?

A.)Fixing a Dual Boot

Click Here(XP users)

Click Here(Vista users)

For windows 7 users, check your Installation CD for Recovery

b.) Click Startup Repair..




just select add entry.. add the OS you want to install..
use easyBCD Click Here to download




d.) restart your PC..

taht's it!


How to Remove a Dual Boot?

a) Open Computer Management

b.)Under Storage, Choose Disk Management


c.) Right click the partition then select Format

after you re-start the entries still there..

Use again easyBCD to remove an OS without content.. delete the entry,,


that's it!


How to Delete a Partition?

a.) open computer management

b.) Under Storage, Choose Disk Management


c.) right click the partition then choose delete..


it will show a black screen...it means unallocated.. so what you need to do click the partition you choosed or drive that you partitioned right click then choose Extend volume..
